  • Menopausal symptoms

Please refer to the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians  (AAC) Website for  further information:

Treatment is individualised and adapted to best support your needs. Focus is on whole body, rather than on a single ailment, to support physical and mental health in a relaxing space to encourage holistic health and wellbeing.

The Testimonial page details some conditions treated and may help inform whether acupuncture could be beneficial to you.

Understandably you may have questions about treatment options and/or what to expect.  You may have a fear of needles.  I am happy to offer a free initial consultation by phone to talk through any questions, concerns/treatment options or arrange a time for you to visit to meet and discuss further.

TREATMENTS

Acupuncture

An individualised treatment adapted to best support your needs. The focus of treatment is on the whole body rather than on a single ailment and can benefit physical and mental health.

Treatment involves the insertion of sterile, fine, single-use, disposable needles to stimulate specific points on the body.

Facial Enhancement Jade Roller Facial Massage (no needles)

A holistic, relaxing skin rejuvenating treatment utilising acupressure points on the face to stimulate acupoints helping skin to look revitalised.

This treatment can be incorporated into an acupuncture treatment or stand alone for anyone who has a fear of needles.

Facial Enhancement Acupuncture

(a course of 6 – 10 treatments recommended). See website for further information.

Using ultra fine sterile acupuncture needles, treatment concentrates on specific points to tighten facial muscles, improve skin elasticity and general overall appearance, minimising fine lines.

Whilst a revitalising treatment for the skin, the aim is to also provide balance to the whole body with specific acpuncture points also used on the legs, arms, body and possibly ears (auricular) to balance, harmonise and support greater wellbeing.

Cupping

In conjunction with a therapeutic massage, cupping involves the use of small suction cups to gently pull body tissue and stimulate blood circulation. The aim is to help relax muscle tension, relieve pain and trigger the body's natural healing processes.

This can also be incorporated into an acupuncture treatment if appropriate to presenting complaint.

Auricular Acupuncture

Involves the insertion of a maximum of 5 needles into specific points in the outer ear which acts like a ‘switchboard’ sending impulses to the brain, stimulating the release of endorphins to help lower stress, anxiety and create relaxation.

Following treatment, you will be offered the option to have small ear seeds applied to stimulate certain pressure points in the ear. The use and benefits will be dependent upon presenting condition and discussed during consultation. As well as being an individual treatment, this can be facilitated in group wellbeing sessions.

TESTIMONIALS

Testimonials are from friends and acquaintances who have received treatment since graduation.  Four questions were asked to provide specific, informative feedback.

1. Why did you seek acupuncture treatment (i.e cause or symptoms)?

2. What did you particularly like about the treatment

3. Is there anything you disliked about the treatment/did it hurt?

4. Did acupuncture help with original symptoms/did it help in any other way?

See below

Welcome: Testimonials

1. I hoped that facial acupuncture would stimulate collagen production and improve the appearance of my skin.
2. I liked how relaxed it made me feel and I slept extremely well after a session.
3. I didn’t dislike anything about the treatment. At times it was slightly uncomfortable (felt a sharp prick or a deeper throbbing) but these feelings lasted for a couple of seconds.
4. After 5 facial sessions my skin looks good, though hard to say how much different. However a couple of friends have said how well I look and are interested in booking in for treatment.

JS

1. Acupuncture to relieve stress and anxiety
2. Cath made me feel very relaxed due to her calm nature. Her treatment room has a warm and cosy atmosphere which helped me relax instantly.
3. There was nothing I did not like about my treatment, Knowing acupuncture uses needles, I was worried it might hurt a bit but treatment was painless. It was so comfortable I actually fell asleep, it was amazing, just what I needed.
4. The acupuncture helped me more than I expected. I really struggle with sleeping and find it hard to switch off at night. Following the acupuncture, I slept through the night for several nights which helped me get into a better sleep pattern. This treatment is perfect for stress. I felt relaxed for days later especially using the ear seeds. I would recommend this treatment to anyone, especially those who experience anxiety or have stressful jobs. Many thanks Cath, I will be booking again.

CT

1. I sought acupuncture treatment due to my bad mental health condition. I found that it was useful for my sleeping issues and general relaxation
2. I loved this treatment because it made my mind feel clear and just allowed me to feel relaxed for following weeks after treatment. I also loved the ear seeds as they helped me to control my anxiety during the times when I wasn’t in the sessions.
3. The treatment didn’t hurt at all and Cath made me feel safe and comfortable at all times.
4. Acupuncture helped me in all the ways my anxiety treatment couldn’t. It helped my sleeping problems, it made me feel relaxed and overall improved my mental health condition.

CB

1. Chronic hip pain and knee discomfort.
2. Cath was very informative. After the consultation we discussed different aspects of my treatment and what I can expect from the placing of the needles along with the reasons of where they were placed and what we were hoping to be achieved.
3. The treatment itself I found quite relaxing. I only felt mild discomfort around the ear. However Cath was receptive to this and avoided the area. I felt totally relaxed.
4. I can honestly say that for over a week I felt no pain in my hip or knee (I did not need to take any pain relief) and this, I believe, aided better sleep. I believe also if I could facilitate a course of treatment this would be so much more beneficial for me. I have since been diagnosed with arthritis in my pelvis, hip and knees so I will hopefully be able to arrange ongoing treatments to aid my pain management and relief.

MC

1. I had a very painful elbow that made performing tasks really difficult also menopause issues and fatigue.
2. I enjoyed the relaxing element, that it was time for myself and my health. Cath’s holistic approach. I’ve had acupuncture before but it was just needling, no massage. I think the use of massage, cupping etc makes it more relaxing as a treatment.
3. Nothing to dislike. I’ve had about 12 treatments so far. They’ve all been great.
4. The elbow pain is gone still abit clicky at times. Fatigue and menopause symptoms improved. Unexpected benefits, I sleep much better after treatment and my head feels clearer.

AS

I wanted to try acupuncture to see if it would help with my insomnia and menopause issues and it certainly did. I am sleeping more which in turn has helped my other problems. Cath makes me feel calm and relaxed. I particularly enjoy the auricular acupuncture. There is no pain involved, just comfort. I want to repeat the therapies I have over and over again. Cath is a wonderful therapist and I would not hesitate to recommend her.

LS

I attend acupuncture with Cath alongside my mum. I have a congenital disorder and I hoped the treatment might help some of the issues I experience and it certainly did. I was having night sweats and these have now completely stopped. I really like the ear seeds that Cath puts in at the end of the treatment which help for some time afterwards as well. I love the gentle music, smell of lavender and heat lamps in the lovely room. It makes me feel so chilled out. Cath is wonderful and lovely.

DS

I went to Nottingham to visit my daughter and she had booked me in with Cath as a surprise treatment as I had been suffering with stress, anxiety & unable to sleep due to a bereavement.

From the moment I met Cath she made me feel very calm & relaxed with her lovely nature she was very professional and explained everything step by step.

I also told her about my painful arthritic hands which she said she would treat too.  The procedure wasn't painful at all. I was very relaxed I actually fell asleep it was so cosy in there.

After the treatment that night I had the best night's sleep I had had in a long time & the next couple of days the swelling in my joints had reduced and gave me more movement.

I can't thank Cath enough and will definitely be paying her another visit.
